I just found your community. I have to say I am not at all left-handed. In fact I am seriously right-handed. Why did I join the community? I was taught to knit left-handed but I crochet right-handed. I wanted to share this link from the crochet guild for crocheting left or right-handed. I might be a community anomaly. I hope you don't mind that I joined.

Is there a serious problem following a crochet or knitting patterns, if you are left-handed? I've followed basic knitting patterns and I have never noticed a problem. I am a much more prolific crocheter.

i crochet lefthanded, and i cannot read a pattern, so hehe maybe that is a good thing.

Whenever I finish a row, i have to go to the other side to do the next row, so I am left with a one-sided crochet fabric, no right side and wrong side for me. The only exception is if i am making a cloche hat or granny square.

As for knitting, I am really not sure. I start at the left and go to the right, but I obviously do not turn my work.

It might be in your benefit to learn how to read patterns. It should not matter whether you are right or left-handed to turn your row.

This might help, if not let me know and I'll search for other tutorials that might help you.
